First, my condolances to Idette's family. I can't imagine how you must feel at this time.
Idette personally touched so many lives for the better. If there was something you needed, she was always on the front lines to help. I knew her beginning at Thacher Proffitt & Wood, where we, as a firm and community, went through so much together. She performed many thoughtful acts, such as sharing home remedies for just about anything to seaching the Internet to find out infomation on a myriad of subjects she thought might help you regardless of topic. She seemed to be a wealth of informtion on almost everything.
One day in the office, I suddenly developed a potentially serious problem with my eye and was starting to lose sight. She personally escorted me into a cab and made sure the driver took me to the hospital. I am forever grateful for the kindness and caring she showed to me that day. But that was just typically Idette. Concerned, caring and selfless.
She always spoke so highly and was so proud of her children. Knowing your mom, I am not at all surprised at your accomplishments. She lives on in everything you do and each milestone you achieve. We are all better people for having had her in our lives.
While it is particularly sad that her passing came on the heels of her 60th birthday, I am happy to know that she shared her last days receiving tribute and love from friends and family who came from near and far.
God bless all of you and may His perpetual light shine upon her forever.
Regards, peace and love,
Marguerite Degnan
