Dear Aunt Grace Today we are remembering so many fun times, growing up as kids and our trips into Brooklyn and our backyard BBQ's that my dad love to have at our house on LI! Just this week I took out the recipe you gave me (Janet) to make Easter Pie. It was grandma's recipe and it's so funny because it's a little of this and a little of that with no measurement of ingredients and as a child I had no idea what it looked like. But you helped me with the recipe and I got it just right for my dad and he looked forward to the pies every Easter. They reminded him of his childhood! Your are with my mom and dad now and your brothers and sisters in heaven. My dad looked forward to your phone call every day when he was ill It always put a smile on his face and I know he is embracing you now. Brooklyn was a fun time for all of us as we were growing up. We looked forward to walking to the bakery and those really yummy Italian ices! Aunt Grace, I will always remember our conversations about politics, as you wrote to all of our political reps, voicing your opinion, even into your 90'! You made us laugh! Aunt Grace, I so admired your strength. Your presence at the hospice while my Dad was dying gave me strength and comfort You thought of my Dad while he went through a difficult time, calling him each day .. he looked forward to this. I have many wonderful memories of you ... visiting you in Brooklyn as a child and your visits to Plainview ... and of course the wonderful stories, with quite a bit of detail ... about the family. Rest in peace. Give my dad and all who have passed in our family a kiss. We had such a nice conversation a couple of weeks ago and I'm grateful for this. Love, Liz

My sister Grace passed away this morning hoping that it was peaceful and she did not suffer. Grace was the matrearc of the Appio family.Grace would have been 94 years young on April 2.which she was looking forward too. My sister suffered from various ailments and problems but found the courage to go on and live on herown for many years ,until recently when due to a fall she became weak and had to be put in a rehabiltation home. I feel that going to thes eplaces take your desire to live as you have been. Grace was very alert and livly ,love music an Listened regularly to radio and t.v. shows. When Grace was at a party she would be the center of attention ,telling stories of the family life. Grace was the oldest and Im the youngest of seven .We were only survers lift in our family. Im glad I had a chance to see her on Sunday with our grandchildren who she loved. My sister will be sadly missed by family and friends she always kept in touch with. I know that she very relious and will be reunited with all passed before her. mom,dad,husband,sisters and brothers ,aunts and uncles and live an eternal life in have. I will miss her so much as a sister and friend who I could talk to regularly. Rest in peace my dear sister and go before god .

Our beloved Aunt Grace, we will miss you so, so much! You were such an important part of our family, the Matriarch who still at 93 could recall details from her childhood and took great joy in sharing her memories, family stories, and old photos with us all. We will cherish the time spent with you Aunt Grace, thank you! Rest in peace dear Aunt with all of our love, Lucy, John, Lauren, John, and Kelly
